Before this project my knowledge and expertises in DAW software and Midi Keyboards was minimal. I am now more confident in my competence using my Keyboard to help create music and utilising the Midi format. Quantizing Midi data is a highly valuable skill I have learned during this project, it helps keep beats in sync with the Rhythm for my projects music. In the future I would like to know when it's appropriate to Quantize a beat so that the music doesn't sound too artificial. Prior to this my experience using Midi Keyboards was short lessons within college, not being able to get a through overview when it comes to this class of hardware. To counter this, in my spare time I play and perform with my Akai MPK49 learning different parts of the Midi keyboard such as the drum pads or sliders. Throughout this project I have developed these skills and now as a result I am able to Mix midi tracks in Ableton and perform using my Keyboard. I utilised Primary and Secondary research as previously taught in a lecture to enhance my written work for the project such as attending gigs for Primary and documenting interesting facts found online for Secondary. In my spare time I toyed around with Ableton and created a Piano cover of my personal favourite Aphex Twin songs using Ableton's built in Plugins. This was used for my performance as seen by the videos shown on my blog. I could improve it by maybe adding more instruments to further the dynamics of the sound to make it more interesting for the listener.
