I had received in the post a Akai MPK 49 Midi Keyboard. It is a rather sturdy bit of kit and I will like to use it with Ableton and Logic at home. It cost me £90 in total which I believe to be a good price. I have yet to thoroughly utilise it however I hope to during the weekend.  I believe the Keyboard will help me utilise more of what DAW software has to offer and will also encourage creative productivity.

I am excited about a upcoming gig later today for a band called Melt Banana. Legendary DJ John Peel was a massive fan of them and Melt Banana in memory of John Peel's passing posted a thank you letter on their website as seen here.

With my Akai MPK 49 I am planning to recreate a accurate depiction of a Death Grips live set featuring aggressive samples and odd ambience your hard press to find in the original versions of their songs.

I have received in the post from Amazon a bag to carry my Akai MPK 49 into college. I hope to do sessions with Martin using Ableton and acquire a better understanding of the software.

I am in a incredibly content mood. Yesterday I saw the unique and wonderment filled artist DJ Airplane and Spaceship who also supported the Noise Rock duo Lightening Bolt. I had previously seen DJ Airplane and Spaceship two times, firstly at a Kero Kero Bonito and secondly at a free show she did in Bristol. Her show was individual in character immersing in mystical tales with analog synthesizers and bright colourful lights. After the show I hung out with her as well as Big Jeff and began moshing with her to Lightning Bolt. After the show her as well as Big Jeff were interested in listening to my own Music. The venue was at Trinity, Bristol.

Pete discussed source bonding, removing the initial beginning of sound so you don't know the cause of it. A example of this technique is used in the song Windowlicker by Aphex Twin. Pete told me Richard sampled a convalescent home when having a conversation for his research on his degree. Mat mos also features source bonding

I'm having a conversation with Ethan right now, discussing sheet music and rhythm. Ghost notes mean light tap opposite to a accent. Percent logo means repeat bar, double percent means last 2 bars. Crescendo getting louder diminuendo getting quieter for forte means play loud until other instruments p means quiet sub p means keep in background as well as quiet mf means medium sort of loud. I found this discussion overall very informative and interesting.

I'm now thinking about my practical piece of work, I have been practising with my mid keyboard Ableton Live and want to reflect I what I have learnt so far with a relevant piece of work. As I am a beginner I want to be able to feel comfortable with my choice. I have researched on the internet My ambition is to be able to play Avril 14th however, for this first practical piece I do not have the skills to play this live so I will choose another track.

Currently playing around with Aphex Twin midi covers, I have chosen this as my performance for my project.
